Next to Sole Hope,...this is one of the most awesome organizations we have partnered with!
Ben started The Memory Project years ago, out of his college dorm room after traveling to orphanages around the world and realizing the kids he visited had nothing of their own beyond the clothes on their backs.
Can you imagine...not having one thing that you can call your "own" that is personal to you? Some of these children likely rarely get to even look in a mirror to see their sweet faces.
When wondering what he could do...he thought what better gift to give these sweet kids than heart-felt portraits of themselves! So Ben has teamed up with art classes and studios around the world to make this happen for Orphaned children everywhere!
My heart is so full that we have partnered with Ben's Amazing Mission! Our portraits are no where near done...but I wanted to share the progress thus far!
We received the packet above with each precious face and the kids in our class picked a number out of a jar to see which portrait they would be creating :)
We delved into the use of chiaro scuro and how to create depth in the skin.
We primarily worked in earth tones. Our faces have all kinds of colors in them, but since this was their first time painting portraits...we kept it relatively basic.
Big smiles from one of our sweet artists after working on her portrait! (below)
Here is half of our crew, working diligently!
Sweet Caroline is under 10 and is rocking it! Oh...my heart!!
