Before/After - Kitchen Flip on a Budget

Stretched. Patience Gained. Beauty Attained.

What began as a 3 week stint...evolved into a 7 month stretch when my husband and I moved into my parents, while looking at homes to buy.

We were certainly blessed...My loving parents graciously opened up their home with no complaints, but as a newly married couple, eager to be settled...much patience was learned during this long test of faith.

After several nights, literally on our knees in prayer...Praise Him, eventually our prayers were answered, and we found the location of our dreams.

Now, it was time to flip this 1970's dated space.

This was our kitchen, pre-flip:

To update our space, but not invest a fortune -- Kavs sanded, primed and painted the entire room of kitchen cabinetry. Of course, we aren't The HGTV Kitchen Cousins or House of Smiths :) , but I think he did a pretty incredible job!

After a few coats of fresh white paint went up on the walls,

and we added a few accent pieces that combined vintage with contemporary...

this was our end result:

These are actually the original handles too! We took off the dated back-plates, soaked and scrubbed the handles with a wire brush (you would not believe what came flaking off of these...eek!)

Then we distressed them and painted them with a cast-iron spray paint!

Yay for new hardware for $3!!

{The glass bottles above) are left over from our vintage wedding "message in a bottle" theme. The white vase was handcrafted --  a treasure from my dear friend Leigh! {and of course, the flowers...compliments of the $ Store}

{Below, bird salt and pepper shakers from Harvest Home that I could not resist!}

And a precious "faith stone" from Janet's Annual Breathe 5K.

Read about it here!
