A Handful of FAVORITE Art Projects for Home!

In the spirit of listing our SUMMER CLASSES TOMORROW (EEEEK!!!!) and since we have taken a bit of a break from curriculum-based classes at Bloom-Prints Art Studio since the birth of our baby girl, I thought it would be so fun to share a few of some of my FAVORITE classes that I have either written and/or taught for previous sessions...

...Classes that you can do AT HOME with your sweet littles!

Please share your photos with me if you do any of these at home! I would so love to watch your little ones blooming with creativity!!

I hope you all enjoy!!!

Also, from my "painting with the masters" series, this is probably my favorite study I have ever written! I simply adored their use of movement & watching each artist bloom as they overcame their fear of failure by underpainting in white and not being able to use pencil to pre-draw! Try this one with your sweet kiddos!

2. THE BOY WHO COULD ENTER PAINTINGS - A 3 and 4 Year Old Tiny Tykes Session

For this sweet Tiny Tykes class I read the book "The Boy Who Could Enter Paintings" (an incredibly imaginative and whimsical story of a boy with an artist father who experiences life inside famous paintings! In this lesson, each child figuratively "jumped" into their paintings (with a picture of their hands on their page) and they finished them with finger-painted flowers!

3. ABSTRACT PAINTING WITH LITTLES: A reverse painting method

This was a birthday party with a group of sweet young girls, and the birthday girl's mama requested "abstract art" for a theme.  They started by drawing in sharpie, adding color to their blooms and in a reverse style, added their backgrounds in at the end! The result was lovely!

4.  GEORGIA O'KEEFE FLOWERS (Painting with Glue)

This mixed media project is from my "painting with the masters" series. Each child learned techniques in still life drawing, working in chalk pastel medium, blending and working in glue!

A Woman I Hope to Emulate...Happy Mother's Day!

This woman.

She inspires me.

She inspires others.

She can do anything.

She fears the Lord and is stunningly beautiful both inside and out.

I am blessed to call her Mother.

I am blessed to call her...friend.

Writing this post has been on my heart since I started to blog last year. To celebrate a woman who has had more influence on my life than any other...

To our family...she is the "Macgyver" of Home Creativity or anything crafty.

This lady was re-purposing before it was popular -- all you'd have to do is give her a handful of items and she would create something that would blow your mind with creativity.

She is also an insanely gifted artist. One of her latest that hangs in our home.

Looking back over the past year, I have poured my heart and soul into our Studio...

And one of the more precious aspects of doing what I adore with all of my being, is in part due to how much of it I learned from my amazing Mother.

(Mom ran a pre-school out of our home growing up. This is mom and me during what looks like a birthday celebration.)

She has taught me what it means to work hard, with integrity and showed me by example how to love on others as if they were family.

I so hope with all of my being that my tiny artists feel that love!

Watching her teach over the years has inspired me to always be more.

(And to always look your best while doing it  ;-)  -- (Spectacular 80's hair here mom ;-)

And I pray that the apple didn't fall too far from the tree when it comes to inspiring my students to be content and bloom in all of life's both beautiful and trying of circumstances!

And to love my family with every ounce of my being.

Today, I tip my hat to you my dear mom.

To thank you for your selfless love that is felt by all you meet.

Thank you for inspiring me to teach, holding nothing back and harnessing this God-given passion for the Glory of HIS name.

I pray I can be half the woman you are.

And now with our first baby girl on the way,... this is my prayer more than ever...

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

Love you with all my heart...

Peacock Painting Party!

A few weeks ago, we had another lovely night of painting, drinking wine, laughing, and making memories at Bloom-Prints Studio.

This special family of 4 sisters, their mother and a good friend brought so much life and spunk to the studio!

I adored every minute!

These ladies commented on how our space feels so cozy like a home and it blessed my heart. That is exactly how I hope you feel when you step into this space.

It is such an honor to share my passion with such beautiful souls.

Check out their incredible work and schedule your ladies night here!
